     Creative Technology Associates

I'm Steve Krant and I've been hooked on the creative media, from hands-on television production to hardware and software sales, most of my

working life. Along the way I've become a veteran (and occasional casualty) of

numerous broadcast industry format wars and technology

Some background: I had the good fortune to join Sundance Digital, an emerging broadcast automation software company, as VP of Sales & Marketing in 1998. We grew the company from a 3rd-string player into a profitable, award winning "force to be reckoned with" among

its industry peers. So much so that Avid bought the company in 2006. Before that, I sold television solutions, including digital effects, signal processing and on-air graphics for then leading manufacturers such as Microtime, Digital F/X, Digital GraphiX and Pinnacle Systems.

Prior to sales, I did corporate TV at Ross Perot's EDS in Dallas and was a producer/director at WCNY-TV, Syracuse New York's PBS station. I also served in the United States Air Force, both active and reserve, primarily in public affairs, Aerospace Audiovisual Service (now "Combat Camera") and Armed Forces Radio & Television Service (AFRTS).

I recently passed the torch as Executive Producer, "Content Cat Herder" of the long-running Technology Summit series organized by NewBay Media (now Future, PLC), publishers of Broadcasting & Cable and TV Technology magazines. I still contribute an occasional article to TV Tech. I'm also affiliated with New York-based Desert Moon Public Relations and Advertising, helping principal Harriet Diener with selected accounts.

Add a graduate degree in Mass Communications from Syracuse University, along with "Survival Engineering" stripes earned through osmosis, hard-knocks and observation, and that's pretty much who I am.
